team disney buildings

Disney has pretty nice office buildings called the Team Disney Buildings. They are all in the Pomo style and are Designed by famous architects. The first one with the seven dwarfs is located in Burbank, California, designed by Michael Graves in 1991.

This one with the mickey ears for the enterance is located in Orlando,Florida.

true to frank gehry design the Team Disney building is located in Anaheim, California and follows the curvy forms that most of frank gehry's buildings have.

dont you love the top pediment with the circle of the Sony Building in New York? Philip Johnson's glasses are so groovy.

Pomo icon

The Portland Building designed by Michael Graves is an icon of postmodern architecture. It is the first major postmodern building and one of my favs. I studied this building and had too draw it too. It is not one of the most colorful pomo buildings but is an all time classic.

Post Modern Architecture was a direct response to the modernist movement who liked to design buildings with simple, clean lines boxed shaped and little ornamentation. Many Pomo Buildings have beautiful colors and are designed from outside the "box" (pardon the pun). In this blog you will see some of my fav Pomo buildings.
